Dr. Mary Pat Moyer Elected into National Academy of Engineering
Based in San Antonio, Texas, INCELL Corporation LLC, a global leader in commercializing technology innovations in large scale stem cell manufacturing and personalized medicine, announced the election of Dr. Mary Pat Moyer, CEO of INCELL Corporation, to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE).
Dr. Moyer is an international authority in cell engineering science, manufacturing, and public policy as well as personalized cancer analysis, infectious disease science, and vaccines. She began her career in 1981 at UT Health-San Antonio as a non-tenure track research instructor in the Surgery Department where she was the first woman and the first Ph.D. on the surgery faculty. Eight years later she became a tenured full professor and Surgery Department Research Division head.
Dr. Moyer is also an accomplished business executive and entrepreneur. She is the CEO of INCELL Corporation, a drug and medical device products manufacturer and contract services provider with three core technology areas: (1) Regenerative Medicine, Cell Biotechnology and Oncology; (2) Engineered Microbiology: Vaccines and Infectious Disease; and (3) Personalized Medicine Tools. Dr. Moyer is preeminent in the bioengineering of first-in-class clinical products.
Upon receiving notice of her election, Dr. Moyer recognized both her current and former colleagues. She stated, “This election is both humbling and a highlight of my professional career. I am thankful for the many mentors, teachers, colleagues, and friends who over the years have supported me, my research and my decision to embrace industry to get products to the clinic. I am especially grateful for my supportive family and my colleagues at INCELL who continue to work with me day in and day out to manufacture high quality products and discover innovative treatments that serve humanity and improve people’s quality of life.”

Ms. Salamone also pointed out Dr. Moyer’s election highlighted the growing influence and recognition of San Antonio’s scientific community on the national stage, “With the election of Dr. Moyer to the NAE, San Antonio is now home to four members of the organization making important scientific contributions to a variety of engineering fields ranging from aeronautics to biomedical engineering. The future is bright for our city as a center of research, development, and commercialization.”
